Volunteering with the National Trust provides an insight into the history and heritage of the Northern Territory. The Trust has properties in the major centres: Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Borroloola, Katherine and Pine Creek.

National Trust of Australia (NT)  is currently seeking volunteers:

From planning and leading walks, tours and other events, researching an issue, writing a submission or newsletter article, helping in the Office, managing the items in the Trust’s collection, participating on a committee or on the Council, the Trust needs volunteers with a wide range of skill sets and experience.

Studies have shown that volunteers help both the community and their own wellbeing. Why not make new friends and help to preserve our heritage?

If you are interested in volunteering with the National Trust (ACT), please contact us via the form below. We will get in contact with you to discuss possible opportunities in which to volunteer.

The National Trust relies heavily on its volunteers to enhance visitor experiences across the country. As a volunteer with the NT National Trust, you can gain insight into the history and heritage of the Northern Territory. There are Trust properties in Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Borroloola, Katherine, and Pine Creek.

All our NT Trust Branches and Properties are looking for enthusiastic   volunteers, for the 2025 season who can give a few hours of their time caring for our various Trust properties, working in the gardens, opening and closing properties, helping to clean up and setting up new displays, working in the Heritage festivals, cataloguing collections, assisting with High Teas, and administration duties.

Please contact your local Branch or NT Trust to see how you can help preserve and share the NT built and cultural history!
