Historic memorabilia relating to RSL and Australian Defence forces

The Marangan Lodge was established in 1870 (153 years old) - the 64th Masonic lodge established in Victoria. Meetings were originally held in the Benalla Black Swan Hotel (now demolished) and have been held in its current location since 1903. The building was established as a Masonic Lodge.

Stymied by an elusive ancestor? "Brick Walls", or tough research problems and dead-ends have stopped many a family researcher in their tracks!

The event will reveal the history of how a Benalla born and educated lad, became the Chief Engineer and provided the support infrastructure for a small regional airline, that with his technical support over 28 years, would become one of the worlds iconic international airlines.

Finding Gold from Your Research - This presentation will teach, by example, various methods of undertaking research that lead to immediately usable outcomes. It will look at the nature and types of data available and ascertain the best methods of extracting gold in the form of information.

Moira Benalla Club will be having an Open Day on Sunday 7th May 2023 from 10am to 2pm. Moira House will be open to the public to view. Please come along and have a wander round this magnificent building. Tea & Coffee will be available as well as our bar will be open for drinks.

This Lotjpatj Natjan Danak sculpture walk at Winton Wetlands is a new creation of cultural works representing many essential elements of life and belief for Yorta Yorta and other indigenous groups. Created by talented Yorta Yorta artists, it makes an ideal self-guided walk this time of year.
