Shop for Christmas
Now in its 20th year, the ever-popular Lindesay Christmas Gift Fair is a festive day out where you can shop for local and handcrafted Christmas gifts and gourmet foods, while enjoying Lindesay’s spectacular views over Sydney harbour. Proudly presented by the National Trust (NSW) Women’s Committee. Thursday 17 – Saturday 19 November 2022, from 10am – 4pm. Entry fee: $5.
In Sydney’s Hunter Hill, the Vienna Cottage Christmas Boutique will be filled with beautiful Christmas gifts, including hampers, wine, jewellery and homewares. This much-loved event held in the rooms of the 1871 working mans cottage has been a tradition at Vienna Cottage for over thirty years. Entry is free, and the fair will run across three days, from Friday 25 November to Sunday 27 November. Check event listing for opening times.
Family friendly events
Kickstart the festive season with a visit to Old Government House, where the house will be decked out throughout December as part of Old Government House Christmas Magic. There’ll be festive ornaments, Christmas greenery and a beautiful, decorated tree gracing the stairwell. Guided by the sound of festive carols coming from the drawing room, discover the dining table set for Christmas dinner, stockings hung by the fireplace and the preparations for Christmas pudding and gingerbread underway in the kitchen.
Exclusive member event
And just for our amazing members – experience the festive magical Old Government House at twilight with a glass of sparkling wine and canapes. Catch up with friends, relax on the lawn, then take a tour of our historic house decked in festive ornaments, Christmas greenery and a beautiful decorated tree gracing the stairwell. Have a heritage Christmas
Experience a grand start to Christmas with Alfresco Afternoons at Retford Park, which includes Christmas drinks and a late afternoon stroll through the formal gardens. Inside, the house will be beautifully decorated for the festive season. There will also be the latest exhibition by Artists of the Round Yard on display in the White Cottage and Round Yard. If you’ve always wondered what a real Victorian Christmas looks like, Grossmann House’s Victorian Christmas event is the perfect time travel. Take the opportunity to snap a special photo in a festive period setting in the house or head outside to enjoy the beautiful garden. The property will also be open for tours of the fully restored Victorian townhouse. Sunday 11 December, from 10am to 4pm. Ticket prices vary. Find out more.
At Christmas with The Porter’s in Newcastle, you can see how the original family of the house celebrated Christmas during the early years of the twentieth century, with cards, recipes, decorations and toys on display, plus Christmas Stall laden with homemade goodies. Hi I would like to know what other states have to visit ie Victoria and Queensland in particular
Ive seen quite a lot here in NSW
It would be good to perhaps have the opportunity to join some weekends etc to these other states With the National Trust
