National History Challenge 2011
The ACNT is a sponsor for the annual National History
Challenge. The Challenge is a research
competition open to students from year levels 5 to 12 across Australia. Students are invited to participate and
demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of Australian history by
producing a research project in the form of an essay, museum display,
performance or multi-media presentation.
The 2011 theme for the Challenge was ‘Defining Moments’. The
ACNT sponsors a special category within the competition theme on ‘Australian’
Heritage’.
The 2011 winner is Joseph Sabbagh from the Perth Modern
School. Joseph produced a DVD in the
form of a documentary on the history of the Overland Telegraph Line.

The National Trust of Australia invites students from years 5 to 12 to enter the Trust’s special category Australia’s heritage.
Cash prizes for best entries meeting the 2011 theme and the National Trust special category theme Australia’s Heritage in each state. A national winner will be selected from these State/Territory entries and awarded additional prizes.
An additional prize will be awarded if a State/Territory winner uses National Trust resources.
