Considered to be the ‘jewel in the crown’ of a small collection of original Hill Stations on Mt Macedon created by men of wealth and commerce during the 1870s, Duneira Estate remains intact today with the original house, outbuildings and heritage listed gardens, including the iconic 500m Elm Avenue.
Join expert horticulturalist, author, radio broadcaster and TV presenter Stephen Ryan as he tells the story of the evolution of the Grand Gardens that have made Mt Macedon a unique landscape.
Following Stephen’s talk enjoy a glass of wine and watch award winning film makers Elizabeth Langslow and Leandro Palacio’s short films on Mt Macedon’s horticultural history. Showcasing images from the Mt Macedon & Gisborne Historical Society, and including interviews with gardeners and owners, this event is a rare treat for history buffs and garden lovers.
