Revealed – Stories from the Collection

Enter into one of our most historic buildings to glimpse into our region's fascinating history and stories.

Revealed will present a selection or artefacts and artworks which will tell the stories of people, events and places of the Glenelg Shire. In 2024 the Collections Team began a process of documentation, research and re-location of objects and artworks to ensure that our collection is cared for to industry standards.

This exhibition will highlight some of the fascinating objects, artworks and archives the team has been researching. Each object provides a window into the past and is also presented in Portland History House, one of Portland’s oldest buildings.

Portland History House is open 10-12 and 1-4 everyday except Tuesdays (closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday).
