Attend between 12noon and 2pm on 3 May or 10 May, meet and chat with friends of Mentone Station and gardens. See the restored Edwardian Heritage Station buildings & Gardens and the history relating to the transport by train of racehorses from the days of the Mentone racecourse. View the commemorative horse trough marking the tragic death of local woman Violet Murrell and her horse Garryowen, an event that prompted the prestigious Garryowen trophy contested each year at the Royal Melbourne Show.
