History Comes Alive at Kew Cemetery

Many fascinating stories can be found among the graves at the Boroondara (Kew) Cemetery. While we won't literally 'unearth' the people, you will be pleased to hear, we will unearth their stories.

The first burial at the Kew Cemetery was in 1859. This was, of course, in the midst of the gold rush and many of the movers and shakers who made Melbourne marvelous are buried here.

On our walk you will also hear about other residents whose names you will recognise as both famous and infamous.
