Follow in the Footsteps of Joseph Brady, the Civil Engineer who Quenched the Thirst of the Goldfields
Join your hosts from Coliban Water for a free guided walking tour of Crusoe and No7 Reservoirs, as well as sections of the Coliban Main Channel.
Described by one biographer as ‘probably the most accomplished civil engineer to have worked in Australia’, Joseph Brady was responsible for much of the built water infrastructure that still serves the region today.
The Coliban Main Channel is one such asset; terminating in Bendigo, this clever and hard-won 70km long engineering marvel still gravity feeds the raw water supply to the towns along its length.
Crusoe and Number 7 reservoirs were also a result of Brady’s efforts and a key part of the historical water supply.
