Beneath the Surface

Join me on a walking tour to explore parts of the city unearthed in recent and not so recent digs as we bring to light the stories told by the artefacts uncovered.

Beneath the Surface Walking Tour begins at Parliament House at the top end of Bourke Street and visits significant archaeology dig sites in the city. We will discover how artefacts from cesspits become history, uncovering layers over time. Visiting sites with artefacts on display will allow discussion and dig up stories of real people and places. The Melbourne Metro Tunnel digs have unearthed a vast number of artefacts to reveal aspects of Melbourne history.
