Your story is our story

Operating for over 170 years, Pentridge Prison was one of Victoria’s longest-running prisons. Closed for 25 years, 2022 will see Pentridge’s historic bluestone cell blocks and site open to the public for the first time with a new visitor experience operated by the National Trust.

A site of incarceration and a workplace, Pentridge was designed to accommodate staff, prisoners and external visitors. A commanding presence, physically and mentally, Pentridge has witnessed untold stories.
