Activities from March to July 2023

 

Tuesday 7th March at 1:30pm: Unity Church Hall, 13 Mann Street, Mount Barker.

Guest Speaker: Mayor David Leach, Mount Barker District Council.

Please bring a plate of afternoon tea to share and a gold coin donation to help cover the cost of Hall hire.

 

Tuesday 4th April at 1:30pm: Linear Trail, Dunn-Bickle Community Land, Cameron Rd, Mount Barker (on the western side of the footbridge that crosses Littlehampton Creek between the Mt Barker Caravan & Tourist Park and Mt Barker Mountain Pool).

A community event to celebrate the unveiling of the interpretive signage for the “Dunn-Bickle Community Land”. The unveiling will be performed by the Hon Dan Cregan MP and Mayor David Leach, Mount Barker District Council.

Parking is available in the swimming pool car park on Cameron Road. A path at the northern end of the car park leads down to the Linear Trail. There is limited parking available near the entrance to the caravan park.

 

Tuesday 2nd May at 1:30pm: Mount Barker Cemetery, 23 Springs Road, Mount Barker.

Meet in the south-eastern corner of the cemetery near the corner of Springs Road and Karkoo Court. We will walk through the old section of the cemetery to see the history posts.

Parking is available off Springs Road in the central parking area of the cemetery. Some parking is available near the old section of the cemetery at the corner of Springs Road and Karkoo Court.

Tuesday 4th July at 1:30pm: Unity Church Hall, 13 Mann Street, Mount Barker.

Guest speaker: Dr Jeff Nicholas will talk about his 3-volume book set, “Behind the Streets of Adelaide”, in which he pays tribute to the 62 men and women names in Adelaide’s streets.
