It was brought to our attention by Member for Bragg Jack Batty that the Labor Government announced the initiation of a “Code Amendment that will seriously impact the local Glenside area – it proposes a significant increase to maximum building heights and, if it is approved, will see 20 storey apartment towers being built in residential areas.
Many community members raised concerns about the plan for unrestrained high rise urban infill and the pressure it will put on traffic, schools, parking, water and open space whilst also overshadowing the unique characteristics of the neighbourhood. The community wishes for the Minister of Planning to hear and listen to their concerns and queries about this planned amendment.
The meeting will be held on Saturday 4 May 2024 at 11:00am, at Glenside Park Playground (Blue Gum Drive in Cedar Woods Development).
