Audit, Finance and Governance Committee

Purpose of the Audit, Finance and Governance Committee (AFGC):

The AFGC provides guidance to Governing Councilors, the CEO, and Executive Managers on management accounting, cash flow, funding requirements, budgeting, risk management, and overall financial performance. The Committee also oversees and evaluates the quality of audits conducted by external auditors and makes recommendations regarding annual audit assessments to the NTSA Council. Additionally, it serves as an independent body to review statutory financial reports presented to, and by, the Council for the membership.

Members, Regions and Branches Committee

Purpose of the Members, Regions and Branches Committee (MRBC):

The MRBC provides advice to the NTSA Council, CEO, and Executive Managers on policies and strategies relating to NTSA members, branches, and regional activities. The Council actively considers and refers matters affecting members, regions, and branches to the MRBC for guidance. The Committee may also, either at its own initiative or at the request of the Council, provide current, reliable, and objective information to support informed decision-making on membership and branch matters. Additionally, the MRBC serves as a channel through which branches can raise issues and concerns directly with the Council of the National Trust of South Australia.

Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee

Purpose of the Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee (CHAC):

The CHAC provides expert advice to the NTSA Council, CEO, and Executive Managers on the conservation, preservation, management, interpretation, and promotion of the National Trust of South Australia’s cultural heritage assets. The Committee reviews and makes recommendations on heritage policy, conservation management, collection care, interpretation strategies, and heritage advocacy initiatives. It also serves as an independent advisory body, guiding the Council on decisions that affect NTSA’s cultural heritage values, including collections, buildings, sites, and intangible heritage.

Natural Heritage Advisory Committee

Purpose of the Natural Heritage Advisory Committee (NHAC):

The NHAC provides advice to the NTSA Council, CEO, and Executive Managers on policies and strategies for the management of NTSA Natural Heritage Reserves and other activities supporting South Australia’s natural heritage. Through its Significant Tree Team, the Committee maintains and advocates for the South Australian component of the National Trust’s Significant Tree Register and Database. It also provides the Council with current, reliable, and objective information to support informed decision-making on environmental and natural heritage matters.
