On display in St Bartholomew’s Church in East Perth Cemeteries, this exhibition displayed discoveries made by archaeologists during excavations of the Chinese Cemetery in East Perth. It ran for five weeks across May and June before being lent to the National Archives of Australia for display in its Northbridge office until October. An online version of the exhibition will be made available on our website later in the year.

Free public talk, Thursday 1 September

There’s one last chance to hear from the curator of ‘Beneath the Bitumen: Discoveries from the Chinese Cemetery, East Perth’. Sarah Murphy, the National Trust’s Manager Collections and Interpretation, will be giving a public talk at the National Archives from 11.00am. This is a free event but please register if you would like to attend.
