Supporting one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation was created to secure the future of Australia’s wildlife. The Foundation directly funds Currumbin Wildlife Hospital and its vital work treating, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife. The Hospital has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospital’s in the world, admitting over 9,000 animals a year – a service that is provided free of charge to the community. The skilled and experienced veterinary team, supported by volunteers, prides itself in providing the highest level of veterinary care to all of their patients.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation aims to raise $1million annually to continue its mission of saving Australia’s wildlife, and to find cures for devastating diseases such as koala chlamydia. The Foundation’s mission is to save as many native Australian animal patients as possible to preserve our wildlife for future generations to enjoy.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation currently receives no ongoing State or Federal Government funding for the treatment of the ever growing number of wildlife cases, and relies on donations and corporate partners to fund the crucial work of the veterinary team.
The Wildlife Hospital is located within the grounds of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, and visitors can explore the back deck of the Hospital to get a bird’s eye view of the vets in action through the floor to ceiling windows. See x-rays, ultrasounds and endoscopes, and experience veterinary procedures taking place from a surgeon’s point of view by a camera mounted on the surgical light! For those eager to learn more about our wildlife and ways to help support them in the wild, the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation Shop, located at the entrance to the Wildlife Hospital Precinct, is open from 8.00am -5.00pm seven days a week.
The Foundation staff are a small team of hardworking and passionate people who dedicate their time elevating the profile of the Foundation and raising as much financial assistance as possible. Their dedication in supporting the work of Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is essential to its mission of saving our wildlife.
