Share your story in the Australian Heritage Festival

Organisations can now register their events for the 2023 Australian Heritage Festival.

This annual festival, organised by National Trusts around Australia, has become the country’s largest festival celebrating natural and cultural heritage.

Local history groups, councils, museums, libraries and community organisations are welcome to take part and register an event in the Festival.

“We’re excited to be a part of this national celebration of heritage,” said Julian Donaldson, National Trust of Western Australia CEO.

“Thanks to funding from Lotterywest, we’re looking forward to running several public events as well as supporting all the community-based events with a printed program, online calendar and broader Festival marketing.

“We encourage organisations around Western Australia to take part and engage their communities in heritage.”

The Australian Heritage Festival will run from Monday 10 April to Sunday 14 May and the 2023 theme is Shared stories.

This theme invites event organisers to explore Australia’s layered history by sharing stories of our natural and cultural heritage, and encourages the community to build deeper connections by sharing their own rich and diverse stories along the way.

All events registered by 31 January 2023 will be included in the print program, which will be distributed around the state. Events will also feature in the online calendar.
