Lifetime Membership Nomination – Trevor Horman

Director of National Trust of Australia NT.

 

It gives me great pleasure in nominating, Mr Trevor C Horman AM for Honouree Life Membership to the National Trust of Australia NT in recognition of his Service to the National Trust NT.

Trevor First joined the National Trust of Australia NT in 2002, since that date he has been passionate in his involvement with the Trust at a Branch level, assisting with the organisation of the Annual Heritage festival for the Larrakeyah Branch, assisting with speakers for events, organising transport for participant’s, setting up lights, many of the backstage logistics.

Trevor was a founding member and instrumental in setting up of the North Australian Railway (2002) and organising Adelaide River Railway precinct into its current development. He has been involved in the continued preservation of Pine Creek Railway and expanding the display and assisting and lobbying with the Katherine Branch for further developments at the Railway precinct and O’Keefe House. Trevor has given many presentations over the years sharing his knowledge and passion of the History of the Northern Australian Railway.

Trevor became a member of the National Trust NT board in 2005, he has always expressed a very hands-on attitude, with strong support of the NT Trusts role in various Historical sites and buildings in regional areas. Trevor has been tireless in organising numerous working bees at various remote and urban locations in Northern Australia, especial at Myilly Point Heritage Precinct, Road Masters House, Pine Creek, Adelaide River, Katherine and Birdum and sharing his knowledge of Heritage sites around the Territory.

In 2010 Trevor became our current President of the National Trust of Australia NT and again showed his ongoing commitment and passion to the National Trust of Australia NT not only at Branch Level, State than on the National Level, trying to help assist and guide the federal body through a time of much uncertainty and changing roles.

Trevor is always giving of his time and Passion whether Lobbying local government representatives for the saving of the Road Masters House! Or if it’s a tree down, he and his trailer are always there to help pick up the pieces, show enthusiasm and passion for new projects!

I hope you will join me in celebration of this well-deserved recognition to Trevor for his dedication and passion he has displayed in the preservation of NT heritage over the last 16 years, we look forward to working on many more National Trust projects over the years!.
