Exclusive members event: What’s so special about Edith Dircksey Cowan? SOLD OUT

Members are invited to join us on Tuesday 19 October for a special talk on Australia's first female parliamentarian, Edith Dircksey Cowan.

To mark the centenary of her election to the Australian Parliament, you’re invited to an exclusive members event to celebrate this remarkable woman.

Members have been emailed a link to buy tickets. If you are a member and have not received the link please contact our events team or call (08) 9321 6088

Our presenter is by Hilary Silbert, a passionate advocate for the recognition of Edith Cowan’s contributions to Australian political and community life, and the founder of the Edith Dircksey Cowan Commemoration.

Come along to learn more about the life and legacy of this extraordinary Australian who overcame great personal tragedy and fought to improve the lives of Australian women and children.

Light refreshments will be provided after the talk so you can chat with Hilary and enjoy the company of fellow members on a beautiful spring evening at the Old Observatory grounds.

Note, due to popular demand we added a second event on Thursday 21 October. Both dates have sold out.

If you have any dietary or access requirements that we should be aware of, please let us know during the registration process, call us on (08) 9321 6088 or email our events team.
