Join us for a special evening opening as we dress Old Government House in Victorian splendour to celebrate Christmas.
Drawing upon its time as a boarding house in the later nineteenth century, this event will capture a time when Old Government House became a temporary home for new residents celebrating their first Christmas in the antipodes.
There will be a Christmas tree in the stair hall and holly in the dining room, families will have a chance to take a photo with Santa (please bring your own camera/phone) while outside children will have a chance to make their own paper lantern – all before heading down to the Crescent in Parramatta Park for an evening of Carols hosted by the City of Parramatta.
Please note that the upstairs, including the Women of Distinction exhibition, will be closed during this event. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Entry to the house: $5 (includes a chance to take a photo with Santa)
- Lantern making for children out the front: $2
To book or for enquiries please email the property direct ogh@nationaltrust.com.au or call (02) 9635 8149.
