The paintings for this exhibit, numbering approximately 20, have all been completed during 2024. The artist, Anne Fontaine, lives in the Blue Mountains and has been inspired by the beauty of each season over this 12-month period. Various mediums have been used including acrylic, oils and pen and ink.
Summer is warm, with colourful flowers like hydrangeas and rhododendrons lining the streets and gardens. Autumn gifts the most beautiful colours. Winter is bleak but crisp with the first white azaleas and Sasanqua camelias appearing. It’s time for bushwalks in the beautiful Jamieson Valley. Spring is exciting with bulbs and flowers of all sorts blooming, birds everywhere.
These works depict mountain scenes, flora and fauna seen in summer, autumn, winter and spring around the artist’s home in Leura in the Upper Blue Mountains, NSW.
