Open House Melbourne 2018

Uncover the past with the National Trust at Open House Melbourne on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July 2018

The National Trust has participated in Open House Melbourne (OHM) since opening the doors of Tasma Terrace in 2009.

Open House Melbourne provides the community with a free opportunity to uncover a hidden wealth of architecture, engineering marvels and historic buildings.

This year we will be opening the doors to Tasma Terrace, La Trobe’s Cottage, Labassa, Como House and the Portable Iron Houses on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July.

Properties Open

Discover Victoria era luxury at Labassa and admire the ornate stained glass and rare trompe l’oeil ceiling.

Opening time: 11am – 4pm
Located: 2 Manor Grove, Caulfield North


Be immersed in the elegant Como House and enjoy the Georgian-style mansion and five acres of historic gardens.

Opening time: 10am – 4pm

Uncover a hidden gem in the heart of the CBD at Tasma Terrace, one of the finest examples of a 19th century three-storey terrace house in Australia and home to the National Trust Victoria headquarters.

Opening time: 10am – 4pm
: 6 Parliament Place, East Melbourne


Take a step back in time at La Trobe’s Cottage and explore the living conditions of the early colonists in Melbourne.

Opening time: 12midday – 3pm
: Corner of Birdwood Avenue & Dallas Brooks Drive, The Domain


Turn back the clock to the Gold Rush era at the Portable Iron Houses and see rare, surviving examples of prefabricated housing.

Opening time: 10am – 4pm
: 399 Coventry Street, South Melbourne


Open House Melbourne is a free event however donations towards protecting our heritage and allowing us to open the doors of our properties would be greatly appreciated. Donation boxes are located at the door of each property.
