National Trust Day: The 8th Wonder of the World

Called the 'The Eighth Wonder of the World' by Thomas Edison, the Linotype typecasting machine revolutionized printing and society. Come see it in action and see your name in print!

The Federal Standard Printing Office includes a 112 year old Linotype and a 172 year old Wharfdale flatbed printer, both in working order. Come and see the presses in action and hear about the printing techniques and machines used over a hundred years ago. A unique personalised souvenir will be printed and available for purchase on the day.
