Rippon Lea is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the National Trust! Come along and participate in tours and activities in the grounds.
Visit Rippon Lea on the 60th Anniversary of the National Trust and participate in activities all through the grounds or simply visit our exhibition, The Dressmaker. Join guided tours with the team who maintain these impressive grounds for a tour of the gardens and the stories behind it. The tour will take in behind the scenes areas and you will learn about some of the challenges and highlights in looking after one of Australia’s great gardens.
The tours will end with opportunities to chat with our team, who will be happy to answer questions about your own garden and share some knowledge that can be applied to your own backyard too. Discover what was happening 60 years ago at Rippon Lea, which led to the proposed acquisition of a further 4.2 acres of land and what that might have looked like. Participate in a historical show and tell, bring along any old photographs, objects and/or stories of Rippon Lea’s past. Share your knowledge and information on our history. Tours of the unique Victorian Kitchens will be running throughout the day.
Be a part of the celebrations and explore Rippon Lea’s extensive grounds, play old-fashioned games, or pack a picnic and soak up the sunshine in the gardens.
The mansion is hosting The Dressmaker Costume Exhibition and regular exhibition entry admission prices apply to see the mansion and the exhibition. For more details, visit the website.
