Heritage-listed Lindesay, overlooking Sydney Harbour in Darling Point, will be transformed into a Christmas market wonderland, complete with a visit from Santa and over 70 stalls, many of which are new for 2019. A signature annual event for Sydney, the Lindesay Christmas Gift Fair takes place from 14 – 16 November 2019, 10am - 4pm, with Santa visiting on Saturday 16 November.
The fair features 70 specialty vendors providing keen shoppers the chance to grab gifts for family and friends including a selection of designer jewellery, festive food, handmade homewares and new for 2019 – a gin tasting stall.
Also new for this year, families can have their Santa photos taken on Saturday 16 November in the picturesque gardens of Lindesay from 11am to 2pm. Photos are free and will be emailed to visitors. If the day is rainy, you can find Santa inside the historic 1830s house.
Visitors on Thursday lunchtime will be treated to a variety of Christmas carols sang by The SCEGGS Madrigal Ensemble; an auditioned chamber ensemble of 16 talented voices, ranging in age from 14 to 17 years. The choir was one of only three Australian school choirs to perform in the Gondwana World Choral Festival earlier this year. This festival saw the ensemble share the stage at the Sydney Opera House with the world’s best choristers from Canada, the USA, France, Latvia, Estonia, China and Inner Mongolia. Their conductor is Miss Allison Harrigan.
Visitors can drive, ferry or catch the train to the Lindesay Christmas Fair. For train travellers, there is a free shuttle bus from Edgecliff Station, stand M.
The Fair is a fundraising event and the $5 entry fee and proceeds from the café are invested in the ongoing care and preservation of Lindesay, its gardens and collections.
