Against the backdrop of more than 100 roses in the two-acre cool-climate garden at Harper’s Mansion, celebrate the 40th anniversary of Heritage Roses in Australia (HRiA) with a display of selected heritage roses from private gardens and various free talks over the two days.
Roses and Friends will have a selection of stunning roses available for purchase, plus books and botanical illustrations will also ve available to buy.
You can bring along your unnamed rose for identification and ask the experts for advice on local growing conditions and where to source heritage roses.
Friday 15 November: OPEN 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Talk at 2.00pm: Repeat flowering Bourbons; Josephine Bonaparte’s favourites.
Saturday 16 November: OPEN 10.30am – 4.00pm
Talk at 11.30am: Wonderful roses from the Great War period.
Talk at 2.00pm: Choosing heritage roses for your garden.
You are encouraged to bring along a picnic and sit in the beautiful gardens of Harper’s Mansion.
Teas, coffee and soft drinks will be available for purchase.
