The National Trust ACT, in collaboration with St John’s Anglican Church, Reid, presents a concert of celebratory and contemplative music in this historic Canberra setting.
Robert Harris, a perennial visiting Guest Principal Viola for the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, will perform music spanning three hundred years – J.S. Bach and Telemann from the Baroque (pre-dating European Australia), Schubert (from the colonial era of Gov. Lachlan Macquarie) and a multi-cultural array of world music spanning the years since Australia’s federation – Armenian-American, Chinese, Jewish, Middle Eastern, Ukrainian-Australian, some Scots-American folk and Peter Sculthorpe’s honouring of Indigenous Australia.
The one-hour concert will be followed by a light lunch.
Venue: St John’s Church, 45 Constitution Ave, Reid, ACT
Cost: $20 for lunch and donation to National Trust-St John’s Church Roof Appeal
