Take a walk down the central area of High Street Maitland, to experience just some of the graphic stories of Maitland’s past.
Following on from the highly successful High Street Dramas in 2019, the Friends of Grossmann House invite the public to take a walk down the central area of High Street Maitland, over three late afternoons during the final weekend of March, to experience just some of the graphic stories of Maitland’s past.
Walk with the players, as we stand in the places where sensational crimes, an historic riot, were played out, hearing first hand the details of a number of the stories which form the proud history of our place and its community.
In collaboration with the Maitland Repertory Theatre, the Friends of Grossmann House, offer this stirring street theatre piece on the weekend of March 26/27/28 with a 4.45 start at the corner of High and Free Church Streets, Maitland, concluding at Brough House, 73 Church St, Maitland, for refreshments at 6.15pm.
All proceeds go towards the ongoing maintenance of the National Trust properties – Grossmann and Brough Houses, and to the Maitland Repertory Theatre.
Please note, this event is not recommended for children as it includes some uneven street walking.
