National Trust members are invited to an exclusive Christmas event at the Old Observatory on 7 December 2021 to celebrate our year together.
Members can enjoy the view from the Old Observatory verandahs as they chat and partake in some light refreshments.
As a special behind-the-scenes bonus, our Collections and Interpretation team will present a rarely-seen object from our collection.
In July 2010 the National Trust purchased a 19th century scrapbook at auction in England. Within its pages was a treasure in the form of a watercolour painting of Strawberry Hill thought to have been painted in the 1840s. The picture gives a rare glimpse into life at Strawberry Hill.
Its susceptibility to environmental damage means that the scrapbook is kept in storage. At this exclusive members’ event the scrapbook will be on display for the first time since 2012 and there will be a short talk about how this precious artefact was acquired, its significance and the research that has been undertaken to identify the artist.
Please note, numbers are strictly limited and this event has sold out.
Free onsite parking available.
If you have any dietary or access requirements that we should be aware of, please let us know during the registration process, call us on (08) 9321 6088 or email our events team.
