Trivium - Latin: the place where three roads meet.
Ensemble Trivium, a trio of Brisbane’s finest classical musicians, will present a delightful afternoon concert at Old Government House during the National Trust Heritage Festival on 15 May 2016. The event will showcase a ‘Musical Mosaic’ of programming for flute, bassoon and piano, including works from three continents and spanning over three centuries that reflect the trio’s multicultural backgrounds.
Ensemble Trivium is comprised of Austrian flautist Monika Koerner, QSO’s principal bassoonist Nicole Tait and UQ’s Performance Fellow Russian-born Israeli Anna Grinberg. As Ensemble Trivium, the trio promotes and expands the repertoire for this unique instrumental combination. Works that will be celebrated on May 15 include music by Haydn, Koechlin, Piazzolla and Vivaldi, each of which pay homage to the multicultural background of the ensemble members themselves.
The National Trust Queensland is very proud to be supporting the premiere performance of Ensemble Trivium at Old Government House. It is the next in the Trust’s new series of special events which combine beautiful music with wonderful heritage venues to create truly memorable experiences. It should be a wonderful afternoon.
