Defining Nature – Owen Thompson

Everglades are thrilled to be displaying this art exhibition of landscapes depicting the majestic escarpments of the Blue Mountains, joined by seascapes from the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales.

Nature inspires a response. Owen Thompson’s responses are expressed in these watercolour and mixed media paintings, which aim to capture the extraordinary diversity of colour and texture in natural formations. Contrasting but complementing these big views are close observational studies of collected seed pods, feathers, flowers, shells and leaves from these areas, which add detail to more fully define his responses to nature.

Join Everglades for the launch of the exhibition, opened by artist John Caldwell on Saturday 7 September 2 – 4pm.

If you can’t make the opening event, the exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11am – 3pm until 29 September 2019.
