The Citrus Festival is the official launch of the 2018 Australian Marmalade Awards. The competition is now open!
On Sunday 29 July from 11am until 4pm we will be launching the 2018 Australian Marmalade Awards at a new event: a special one-day Citrus Festival at Beaumont House in Adelaide.
Beaumont House will become a one-shop stop for all your marmalade making needs: bags of locally sourced citrus, including the elusive Seville orange, will be available to anyone for a gold coin donation! While you are collecting your fruit, pick up your free bag of sugar, a recipe and top tips from culinary historian, Allison Reynolds, who is mad about marmalade and was one of our judges last year. She will be giving presentations on how to make a winning marmalade at 12.30pm and 1.30pm in Beaumont House.
For those of you interested in growing citrus, join us for a presentation by renowned Riverland citrus expert, Ian Tolley OAM. His talks will be at 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Riverland kumquat growers ‘The Kumquatery’ will be selling their delicious produce. Marmalade tastings, sales and cups of tea will also be available. Try a winning artisan marmalade and see how high the bar has been set! You can also collect a competition entry form – there is a special category for cooks who use the fruit from the launch at Beaumont House.
We look forward to seeing you at Beaumont House on Sunday 29 July for a fully immersive day of citrus and marmalade!
