With the launch in 1720 of his musical periodical, ‘The Constant Music Master,’ effectively one of the first fan clubs, Telemann was either one of the most democratic of Baroque composers, enabling the musical participation of the middle class, or one of the first classical music superstars, advertising brilliantly to his target market. Signature Series Curator Celia Craig and acclaimed local harpsichord expert Glenys March join forces in the final concert of this series to present fascinating music of Telemann and his contemporaries.Concert will include a glass of wine and cheese prior to the concert. Celia Craig will introduce the performers.
