The National Trust (ACT) invites expressions of interest for an autumn colours and cultural tour to Japan from 4-17 November 2019 (13 nights).
The tour will be led by Michael Hodgkin, life member of the National Trust, and immediate past president of the Australia – Japan Society (ACT). We will be accompanied in Japan by an English speaking Japanese guide.
A reasonable level of fitness is required, since there is a bit of walking involved.
• All accommodation (hotels and one night in a ryokan for the cultural experience)
• All in-country transport including a 7 day JR Rail Pass, airport pickup and coaches where required during the tour.
• Activities indicated in the itinerary.
• 13 breakfasts (at your accommodation), 1 lunch (day 2, sushi making class), dinners on days 2,5 and 6. We will endeavour to arrange shared group bookings on other nights if that is what people would like.
• Main luggage transfers.
Air fares to and from Japan and meals not specified above are NOT included. You will need to make your own airline bookings and you must have personal travel insurance.
Since some costs are fixed (English speaking guide, bus hire, etc) the indicative price is $8,000 per person, based on a minimum of 10 participants. We can take a maximum of 20. Single supplement is $2,200. (Prices will be adjusted depending on the number of participants.)
