When the Hollywood silent movie actress Claire Adams Mackinnon arrived at Mooramong in 1938 with her husband Donald 'Scobie' Mackinnon, she almost immediately set about re-modelling the homestead into a building much more familiar to her in style, something that was at that time straight out of contemporary Hollywood. This will well and truly be on display, with an expo of the family’s exceptional collection of Spode, Lalique & glass tableware, together with silverware not previously exhibited.
As a finale to the 80th anniversary celebrations of this extraordinary property, a unique opportunity is on offer to view 1930’s fashion, homewares, and Impressionist paintings that make up the most comprehensive Mackinnon collection yet. The collection is rarely opened for the public but is available on this occasion for a low
entry fee.
