Scotland and Australia share many connections, and this program brings together engaging music and words from both countries, across a wide range of styles and eras. Enjoy Scottish favourites such as Charlie is my Darlin’, Ye Banks and Braes, poems of Robert Burns; songs and piano works by Scottish composers John Maxwell Geddes, Claire Liddell, Peter Maxwell Davies, William Sweeney; piano solos by Percy Grainger, and fascinating Scots Haiku trios by Melbourne composers. Plus a wee taste of Beethoven’s delightful Scottish folksong settings. An event where you can wear your tartan with pride!
