Art of Peter Pinson

Saturday 22 May 2021, 12pm - 4pm

Cottage tours and an exhibition of the Art of the late Professor Peter Pinson OAM (1943-2017). Artist and Curator Peter Pinson was Emeritus Professor of Fine Art at University of NSW from 1991 to 2008 and Director of Pinson Gallery from 2008 to 2014.

Built in 1871, this rare example of an Artisan’s cottage was used as a home and a dairy by the Hillman family. Remaining with the family until 1984, much of the original character, fittings and furniture remains. Virtually untouched, it gives a glimpse into life as Australia the colony became Australia the nation.

Cottage tours and an exhibition by local award winning artist, the late Peter Pinson (OAM) are available on the day. Pinson was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2007 for service to the visual arts as an educator, painter and writer, and for his contributions to a range of arts organisations.
