Ardrossan Museum

An intriguing restoration is underway of a horse drawn vehicle popular in the late 18th & early 19th centuries, could it be a phaeton?

A  horse drawn vehicle popular in the late 18th & early 19th centuries made locally at Maitland is being restored and will be on display in the former Clarence H Smith Plough Factory which is now the Ardrossan Museum along with the SA icon the stump jump plough, several other modes of transport, a whale jaw  from one of the whales stranded in 2014 & much more. The museum will be open on several days during the History Festival in May .
