Stitched Up

This program provides a unique opportunity for students and teachers to document and study the important nineteenth century collection of textiles, costumes and furnishings at Grossman House.

Years 11-12 TEXTILES & DESIGN

Stitched Up is an education program aimed at Stage 6 Year 11 and 12 Textile and Design Students. The program relates directly to the syllabus area of design and specifically to historical design development.

Students can

  • EXAMINE first hand, 19th century wedding and court dresses, bodices, jackets and undergarments.
  • ANALYSE the design, cut and construction of the costumes and textiles.
  • VIEW and document costume, furnishings and apparel for Major Textiles Project.
  • OBSERVE the factors contributing to the value of historically significant textiles and costume.
