Writing About Womanhood
This April, join Maddie Godfrey as they explore writing about womanhood.
A writer, educator, editor and the 2020 Kat Muscat Fellow, Maddie’s career has focused on exploring womanhood throughout society. This workshop will examine the techniques they use to create a perfect piece of writing and encourage participants to start writing their own poems.
Writing materials will be provided. Please bring along your own refreshments.
In 2020, Maddie was a National Trust Writer in Residence at Peninsula Farm. While here, Maddie took an interest in Ann Hardy’s place of rest, a brass four-poster bed, and wrote ‘Unmade’. This poem has since won the Tom Collins Poetry Prize and can be read here.
Maddie’s book will be available for purchase for $20 (cash only) on the day.
This event is proudly supported by Lotterywest and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
