WORKING 19TH CENTURY VILLAGE

You're invited to see how the village of Wilberforce comes alive as it's transformed into a 19th Century working village.

Step back in time and experience the 1800’s lifestyle of our pioneering ancestors as you enter ‘The Australiana Pioneer Village’ and take part in activities which will leave the whole family thoroughly entertained and amazed:

  • Visit our authentic cottages being run as they would have by the home owners
  • Attend lessons in our School House – careful you do not misbehave or you may receive six of the best from our School Teacher
  • Take part in our traditional games at recess or lunch
  • Visit the Bank and make a withdrawal
  • The Police Station will be in operation so watch your behaviour or the trouble maker of the family might find themselves in gaol
  • Help in the Laundry to get a taste of how challenging working a 99-5 was two centuries ago
  • Try sealing a letter at our Post Office
  • Watch our Blacksmith in action
  • Watch Carpentry being done back in the 19th Century
  • Try a sample of old fashioned cooking from our open fire

… all this and more from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
