When commemorations of war occur, images of soldiers spring to mind, men in uniforms. But what about the women? How have women been commemorated for their contributions? South Perth Library presents a series of events that recognise and honour the war efforts of women.

Many Hearts, One Voice – hear local author Melinda Tognini talk about Many Hearts, One Voice: the story of the War Widows’ Guild in WA, her meticulously researched history of the WA War Widows’ Guild and their fight for the rights and recognition of the families of the fallen. Women’s Clothing in Times of War; uniforms, workwear and fashion – a curated parade of war time clothing with commentary showing how war significantly impacted women’s clothing; from material shortages to changes in socially acceptable styles. Thu 11 May 6.15pm-7.30pm
