Have you ever wondered about the history of your home? Who lived in it before you, what events occurred within its walls, or what secrets it may hold?

Join us for a workshop that will teach you how to research your house’s history using free resources available at your local library.

Led by the Georges River Local Studies Librarians, this workshop will guide you through the process of researching the history of your home.

Through this workshop, you will learn:

  • How to use free library resources such as Ancestry.com and guidance on how to access and use SIX Maps, NSW Land Registry Services records and NSW Historical Imagery Viewer to assist in the research of your house history.
  • How to use the Georges River Libraries catalogue to locate photographs of your neighborhood.
  • How to use Georges River Libraries Local Studies property records to discover information about previous property owners.
