Walking Thomastown – POSTPONED*

Walking Thomastown returns on Friday May 5 6pm – 9pm transforming familiar sites and casting well known pathways in a new light. Gather at dusk and explore the world around you. Walk from Main Street Recreation Reserve, along Edgars Creek to the Westgarthtown Pioneer Precinct and back.

See Thomastown in a new light. Walking Thomastown was an event dreamed up by the community and the City of Whittlesea during Covid and first delivered in 2021. Back for its third outing. the event will kick off with a magical parade, brought to you by local schools and the Thomastown Neighbourhood House. Participants are invited to take a 1.6 km walk along Edgars Creek to Westgarthtown Pioneer Precinct and back. Illuminated sculptures and neons, projections and soundscapes will transform the area and music, dance and magical performances, food trucks and rest spots will be dotted along your journey. The Westgarthtown Pioneer Precinct will be on show with, Ziebell’s Farmhouse and Heritage Garden Museum open for the event and the oldest operating Lutheran Church in Australia will be a highlight.
