Voices from the Secret River: Cruising Downstream

An unmissable 6 hour experience cruising Dyarrubin ‘the mighty Hawkesbury’ with historical tours at two island locations. Downstream, experts provide insights on the deep history of sandstone country and Australian indigenous astronomy. Enjoy lunch at a private historic house on the sparkling waterfront.

Gliding between steep sandstone bluffs, hear from a geologist and rock art researcher about Gondwana and how this magnificent landscape was formed. Further down river take a unique tour of Mud Island to delve into the unusual and bizarre stories from our entertaining history teller. We travel on to visit the beautifully located Bar Island, once a hub for Aboriginal people and early river traders, now with an abandoned midden, church and cemetery. Our cruise meanders back to Spencer to hear about Australian indigenous astronomy and connections to the songlines associated with Dyarubbin.
