Unsung Australian Classics
Come and discover the historical voices of Australia through songs, historical inspired costumes and portraits, photos and social artefacts of daily life relating to the City of Melville and its surrounds.
Unsung Australian Classics focuses on the historical voice of Australia through the performance of songs composed before and after federation. Songs selected were composed prior to 1930 by both amateur and professional Australian composers.
This event aims to showcase a selection of songs written by the ‘father of Australian Music’, Isaac Nathan, opera composer William Vincent Wallace and Western Australia’s 9th Governor General, Sir William C. F. Robinson.
Take the opportunity to view a display of original historical inspired portraits and costume art by a local resident to the City of Melville, Sasha Dalecourt. Enjoy the chance to explore historical social artefacts such as embroidery, lace and other articles of daily life.
This is a fabulous afternoon of entertainment to stimulate the senses.
