Tour of Gore Hill Cemetery

Take a guided walking tour through Gore Hill Cemetery to see many monuments and graves of interest set in a beautiful gardenesque landscape.

Established in the late 1860s by New South Wales politician William Tunks, State Heritage listed Gore Hill Memorial Cemetery is one of the oldest and largest remaining cemeteries in metropolitan Sydney. The first interment was in 1877, and until its closure in 1974, approximately 14,456 burials took place mostly between 1900 and 1930, including many of Sydney’s north shore pioneers and even a Saint! Join this guided walking tour and discover a quiet side of Sydney’s heritage that contains a great deal of interest and visual pleasure.
