The Spirit of the Streets Choir 10th Birthday Celebration & Book Launch

Enjoy an afternoon of joyous singing and festivity as one of Perth's best loved choirs, The Spirit of the Streets, celebrates it's first decade of spreading social inclusion and singing for health. Join the choir and their musical friends to launch their birthday book of life on the edge.

The Spirit of the Streets Choir have become a Perth institution, giving voice to the vulnerable and marginalised in our community, given its openly inclusive acceptance of all comers and creating a family atmosphere through singing and performance.

Discover the choirs’ history and members’ personal stories in print with a book launch and concert at the Perth Concert Hall.

The concert includes original songs written by the choir and other Australian songwriters. Hear a collaboration with a young Aboriginal group, Koondarm, who sing popular songs in Noongar language, and the Burundi Peace Choir, who will bring stories and music from Africa reminding us of WA’s migrant musical heritage.

This is a celebration of the achievements of the Spirit of the Streets Choir and a reminder that our cultural heritage is deepened by an understanding of diversity, multiculturalism and the challenges faced by others in their daily lives.
