The History of Lebanese Shopkeepers in Taree

This twilight walking tour starts in the 1930s and traces the journey and contribution of Lebanese shopkeepers to the fabric of modern Taree. Hear stories of humour, hardship and near calamity from the shopkeepers themselves. You will not look at these businesses the same way again.

Walking past the familiar shops of Dans, Yarads, Saads, Solomons and Dahdahs, shoppers may be largely unaware of the long history these Lebanese families have had with Taree. This twilight walking tour starts in the 1930s and traces the journey of long-term Lebanese families in Taree. Tasty Lebanese treats will be offered at the end of the tour with an opportunity to talk with the presenters.
