Resident tour guides share fascinating stories of those who have worked at the GPO building, which has connected Sydney to the wider world through letters, telegrams and the lively telephone exchange.
These 90-minute heritage tours showcase the intricate stonework and reveal little-known facts of the GPO, including the once controversial Pitt Street carvings that depict the city’s early life and caused public outcry upon their reveal. Access to the Tank Stream relics located on the lower ground floor of the GPO is a brand new addition to the heritage tours, giving tour participants an exclusive opportunity to view the Tank Stream relics and celebrate this pivotal piece of cultural heritage.
